Statewide MLS for California!
08/19/2008 - By REO All Stars The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that the California Association of REALTORS® is getting closer to merging most of the state’s Multiple Listing Services into one statewide CALMLS.
The question is “What took so long?” Have you ever thought to yourself “What MLS board do I sign up with and what about all the other areas that I cover in my normal territory?” All the reciprocal agreements and the hassle of different websites – There has to be a better way. Soon there will be! So far, 66 local REALTOR® associations and also three regional MLS groups have signed nonbinding letters of intent to participate in CALMLS. This represents 60 percent of the market in California Now, we just need to get the site built…Right? Well, for now we will have to use they same old system that has done us right over the years and wait patiently for the new system to be built. Hopefully the price tag that it comes with will help the average user save money and not dig deeper into their pockets. It is reported that the new MLS, which will save practitioners from having to join multiple MLS services, should be available by early 2009.
